Completely Restored Pre WWII Gibson Mastertone Special amp. This amp was made from 1939-42. Pre-date codes, so I'm not sure when this is from. Let's start with how awesome the condition of this 80 year old beauty is! Absolutely incredible! What you have here is a Fender Champ 10 years before the Fender Champ came out! This amp has been completely restored and is 100% plug and play ready! All out of spec parts replaced. Top notch parts used. The only coupling cap is a super huge Ampohm .1uF wax paper in tin foil which is what the original was. F&T dual filter cap. 1 watt carbon comp resistors. The original 8" field coil speaker has been reconed. Leather handle has been replaced. 3 prong power cord. The rubber feet are still original! This amp has a fullness to the tone that you can't get with an amp with a 8" permanent magnet speaker. I think this amp sounds incredible with guitar, but I think it will shine with harp. The tube lineup is 6SJ7 (RCA), 6V6GT (RCA) and 5Y3GT (KenRad). All test good and it's possible that all or at least some are original. Money must be received within 3 days of auction end.
